I have to thank my good friend and fellow Lost Sports 101 contributor Gordo for convincing me to get back on here and post some new stuff after an effective summer sabatical. Since my last post the world of sports has been turned on its head. Here are a few notes on the sports since May:
As of May 14, 2008: The Tampa Bay Rays were in 1st place in the AL East, Brett Favre was retired, The New York Yankees still had a shot, I was more worried about my fantasy baseball team than my college finals, the Celtics were praying for their first championship in 2 decades, Bud Selig had a dream about moving the Washington Nationals back to Montreal and then woke up to cold sweats and this You Tube video.
As of September 3, 2008: The Tampa Bay Rays are in 1st place in the AL East, Brett Favre was named captain of the New York Jets, the Mike and the Mad Dog split-up has become the perfect foreshadowing of the Yankees over the next decade, I am more worried about my fantasy football team than I am about my job, the Celtics won their only championship for the next two decades, and Bud Selig had a dream about moving the Washington Nationals back to Montreal and then woke up to cold sweats and this You Tube video.
I am going to try and convince Gordo to come on here and put up his picks so that we can hopefully get a little competition going but here are my picks for week 1 of the NFL season:
NYG
ATL
BUF
JAC
NYJ
NE
NO
PHI
PIT
BAL
DAL
IND
MIN
DEN
Ill be keeping track over the course of the season and hope that I beat Gordon.
Till next time,
Will
